Recurring offer of school furniture
General information
Overall description
A furniture reuse charity is offering recurring donations of large volumes of educational furniture from the US. Types of furniture typically available are from K-12 schools, colleges and universities, as well as residential furniture from universities. The minimum order is one 40’ container.
Colleges and K-12 schools supply furnishings for classrooms (desks, chairs, bookshelves, activity tables) and a lot more: libraries, cafeterias, kitchens, offices, and science labs. Colleges also provide residential furnishings including beds, mattresses, desks and chairs, bookshelves, wardrobes, dressers, and casual seating.
In addition, occasionally there are furniture items from corporations, such as desks and tables, storage and file cabinets, bookshelves, and seating of all kinds. Hospitals sometimes supply primarily patient and exam room furnishings.
The furniture is available free of charge.
Recipient NGOs need to cover the cost of transportation from the project site in the US to their end location.
Further information about how the process works is attached to this offer.
If you would like to be connected to the donor organisation to describe your needs and provide a wishlist, as well as hear about any specific offers that would be a match for your needs, please respond to this offer and we will put you in touch.

Esperanza Initiative On Disability Uganda (EID UGANDA)
Unverified non-profit organisation
Kabaale Glibert says: Organisation background
Esperanza Initiative on Disability is a voluntary, not for profit non-governmental organization established in 2019 by women of different disability categories including Physical, Sensory and Psychosocial disabilities and Parents of Children with Disabilities from Iganga District, on realization that Women and Girls with Disabilities face heightened discrimination on account of gender, health discrimination and disability, which limits their access to social services. So we focus on elevating lives of persons with disabilities by redressing existing challenges and mitigating future threats to disability with focus on Economic empowerment and livelihoods for persons with disabilities and their families, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, Health and Nutrition and Gender based violence.
EID Uganda envisions Effectively Inclusive society for all in which access to services is prioritized.
The mission is to ensure adequate and equitable services accessible by women and girls with disabilities and other vulnerable groups with respect.
Our overall goal is to improve the quality of life and social well-being of Women and Girls with Disabilities, and other vulnerable groups in Uganda.
EID’s Empowerment Program focusses on advocacy for improved access to services, resources (ownership and control), participation in democratic and governance processes, economic opportunities and respect for their human and health rights.
Therefore we would like to receive the furniture and issue it out to schools whom we are partnering with.
