IKEA Sponsors Forestry Scholarships

Every year, the IKEA Group supports one-year scholarships for 22 students from Poland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Ukraine and Russia to study forestry at the Swedish University of Agricultural Science in Alnarp, Sweden. These scholarships have been arranged annually since 2001.

The purpose of the scholarships is to support competence building in sustainable forestry in countries that are important wood sources for IKEA, and to help future forestry professionals in those countries develop relationships with each other. The students participate in the course ‘Sustainable forestry around the southern Baltic Sea’.
