The Forum of Women for Accelerated Rural Development (FOWARD) is a Ugandan NGO that aims to link grassroots communities to services and opportunities and to build their capacity for collective action to address the challenges they face. FOWARD targets mainly women and children. Its programme focus is on sustainable agriculture, food security, affordable micro credit, water resource development, sanitation and hygiene, environment management, education and vocational training.

FOWARD is currently providing technical support to two group based savings and loan associations; working with four farmer groups; and has established a demonstration garden for onions. It is also embarking on sensitizing rural households to the importance of using improved cook stoves and training them how to make these.
