Swisscontact-Ecuador

Unverified non-profit organisation

Swisscontact is a Swiss non-governmental organization that has been working in developing, newly industrialized and transition countries, since its foundation in 1959. The aim of all its activities is to reduce poverty by promoting private economic and social development in selected countries in the South and East through advisory services, training and continuing education. As regards to environmental protection, Swisscontact has mainly been involved in developing methods to combat air pollution. Swisscontact is run by staff members and there are also retired experts, who are members of the Senior Expert Corps, undertaking voluntary consulting assignments. Assistance is provided in the form of projects that are implemented in conjunction with local partners (companies, NGOs, public institutions). SWISSCONTACT has been working in Ecuador since 1987 under an agreement of non-refundable technical and economic cooperation to support the small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) aimed at creating opportunities for development, growth, and poverty reduction. Swisscontact carries out its own projects as well as the mandates of various donors.
