Tree Aid

Unverified non-profit organisation

TREE AID is a dryland/forestry-focused development charity unlocking the potential of trees to reduce poverty and protect the environment in the African Sahel. Its aim is to provide greater understanding of how best to manage and secure long-term access to natural resources as a means to alleviate poverty. It helps poor communities become more resilient in the face of drought and famine through work on nutrition, food security, village enterprise and trade. The Village Tree Enterprise projects work with local community groups to develop businesses from non-timber tree products such as seeds, nuts, fruits, leaves, flowers and fibres.
