The Charities Advisory Trust is an innovative organisation, concerned with redressing inequalities and injustice in a practical way. The income generation of charities is seen as a way of effecting change. The organization helps other charities with their trading and equips graduates to work in the voluntary sector through training and employment programmes. It carries out research into all aspects of charity trading with the aim of providing reliable information on the sector. The trust strives to provide practical help through ‘bench-marking’ and ‘comparability’, so that charities can assess their performances and set realistic targets. It is dedicated to finding practical methods of redressing inequalities and injustice and its method is to unleash a charity’s entrepreneurial impulses and curb its excesses. The organization has a small grants programme open to applications for any charitable purpose (no country restrictions).
