The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is the UN’s global development network, advocating for change and connecting countries to knowledge, experience and resources to help people build a better life. It is present in 166 countries working with them on their own solutions to global and national development challenges. In Sri Lanka, UNDP’s overarching goal is to support the country in the attainment of the Millennium Development Goals and the reduction of poverty. Other areas of focus are energy, environment and disaster risk management, governance, and peace and recovery.
