Mary’s Meals, a programme of the Scottish International Relief, is an international movement to establish daily school feeding projects in communities where poverty and hunger prevent children from gaining an education. The organisation not only addresses the immediate needs of a hungry children by giving them a daily meal, it also allows those children to receive an education that can provide an escape from poverty for themselves and their communities. Its Back Pack project appeals to schools and organisations to fill backpacks with basic educational material to send to children receiving Mary’s Meals.
