The Asia Quake Appeal was a fundraising appeal for the victims of the 2005 Asian earthquake. The appeal was launched by DEC, the UK Disasters Emergency Committee. DEC raises funds on behalf of its members (aid agencies based in the UK) in response to major humanitarian disasters which cannot de dealt with by the usual inhouse coping mechanisms.
