Gapminder is a non-profit foundation, registered in Stockholm, Sweden, for the development and provision of free software that visualise human development – a modern “museum” on the Internet.
This is done in collaboration with universities, UN organisations, public agencies and non-governmental organisations.
The initial activity was to pursue the development of the Trendalyzer software which aimed to transfer global development stats into enjoyable, animated and interactive graphics.
