The Society of St Vincent de Paul(SVP) is an international Roman Catholic voluntary organization dedicated to tackling poverty and disadvantage by providing direct practical assistance to anyone in need( irrespective of ideology, faith, ethnicity, age or gender).The organization addresses social and material needs in all its many forms. The SVP runs a variety of projects including holiday schemes, children’s summer camps, furniture stores, community shops, support centers, soup runs, residential care, deaf clubs, debt counseling, community transport and asylum care. Financial support is also provided in the form of regular contributions, student sponsorship, specific projects to members in developing countries and a disaster fund has been set up to help the local society cope with disasters in their own country.
