Anglian Water supports WaterAid's work by fundraising and employee volunteering

Anglian Water is an important partner for WaterAid and is committed to providing support in a variety of ways.

In the last nine years, the region has raised enough to help 140,000 people gain access to safe, clean water. In 2007-08 Anglian Water employees and CCS raised over £300,000, which helped to provide clean water and safe sanitation for people in countries such as Uganda, with which Anglian Water has a country link. In 2009/10 the committee raised £275,110 through employee fundraising and business partners. The committee also has a team of speakers who raise awareness for WaterAid’s work by giving talks to schools, Rotary Clubs, churches, women’s groups and many more.

Employees volunteer through Anglian Water’s Community Programme ‘Give Me Five’. As part of this programme, employees can organise or participate in activities to raise funds and awareness for WaterAid. For every five hours of employee’s own time spent on activities, Anglian Water matches with company time, up to 30 hours a year. Company employees also give to the charity through payroll giving and through the WaterAid lottery. A corporate donation of £40K is also made each year to help fund WaterAid’s running costs.

Anglian Water also supports WaterAid with a fundraising leaflet in customer water bills. Since its launch in 1993 over 17,000 customers have generously donated in response.
