The International Committee for the Development of Peoples (CISP) is an Italian NGO focusing on development cooperation, humanitarian aid and rehabilitation. CISP’s priorities in the field of cooperation are the fight against poverty, rural development, food security (agriculture, fishery, aquaculture and small scale breeding), rural and urban health, education and training, management of natural resources, environmental protection, sustaining peace initiatives, and micro-credit and support of commercial enterprise. Furthermore, in the field of emergency and humanitarian aid, CISP’s activities is directed towards refugee communities, returnees and displaced people, promoting health services, and defining and implementing disaster preparedness plans. CISP runs projects in around 30 countries in Africa, Latin America, the Middle East, Asia and Eastern Europe, and works in partnership with local authorities, the private sector and civil society. In western Europe, CISP actively engage in information campaigns, higher education programmes, development and intercultural education programmes, promotion of international solidarity, and fight against social exclusion.
