Oxfam - Sudan

Unverified non-profit organisation

Oxfam is a development and relief agency that helps people worldwide in the struggle against poverty. It has been present in Sudan since 1983. In March 2009, the Sudanese government expels Oxfam from northern Sudan and its programmes in Darfur, Khartoum and Red Sea State – assisting nearly 600,000 people – are closed down. In southern Sudan, Oxfam continues its work, focusing on providing water and sanitation, supporting livelihoods, and responding to humanitarian emergencies.
