Sainsbury's assisted a charity gardening enterprise

Sainsbury’s was one of the few companies which supported Mow & Grow when it was a tiny voluntary group. Its funding in the early days ensured its survival of this social enterprise offering a gardening and horticultural service to those in need.

Mow & Grow is a not-for-profit enterprise set up by Sainsbury’s employee Trevor Lynn in 2005. It offers a free gardening service for elderly and vulnerable people, and provides work experience and training for local volunteers. Since it started, Mow & Grow has helped over 500 elderly and vulnerable people and supported over 70 charities, voluntary organizations and community groups. Over 80 volunteers have been trained-up and received certificates in gardening.
