SAWAB (Social Agency for Welfare and Advancement in Bangladesh) has been working as an NGO in Bangladesh since 1995. It is a completely non-government, non-profit and non-political voluntary welfare and development organization. This organization was founded to work for human resource development through education, health care and nutrition, environment preservation, income-generating activities, etc. for the poor and underprivileged portion of the population with specific attention to women and children. Orphan Care, supporting poor and distressed women and children are the main thrust of the special care programs. Besides, SAWAB is committed to helping the destitute people, to make them self-employed, so that they can contribute to the economic development of the country.

Moreover, SAWAB has been expanding its humanitarian, welfare and development activities since the violence in Myanmar’s Rakhine began in 2017 under various programs and projects such as Humanitarian Assistance, Health & Nutrition, Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Education, Climate Change Adaption, Infrastructure Development, Occasional & Seasonal, Volunteer Development, Networking Partnership, Advocacy & Campaign for Development. Currently, SAWAB is implementing shelters, water & sanitation, orphan childcare education center, mosques building project in the Rohingya camp, Cox’s Bazar for the betterment of their life.
