Sanitation case studies: It is time for business to act

In 2008, the UN International Year of Sanitation, the WBCSD highlighted this important issue, and saw this advocacy effort as an excellent opportunity for companies to get involved and make a positive difference.

The review argues that providing access to improved sanitation is good business as the estimated economic return from improved sanitation is approximately US$ 10 for every US$ 1 invested. Companies are already making a positive contribution. The review includes case studies from Borouge and Borealis, Dow Chemical, GHD, ITT, Procter & Gamble, Shell, the Coca-Cola Company, Unilever and Veolia.
