The Swayam Shikshan Prayog (India) is an organisation directed primarily at women and their integration in the development process. Its objective is to build up the capacity of rural women groups in the access and management of available resources in order to include them in the decision-making processes that affect the allocation and management resources. Its membership includes 22, 507 women from India’s rural regions who are involved in discussing and solving priority issues including: credit, food security, water and sanitation, health, education and social infrastructure. The women groups accomplish this through demonstration projects, community planning, skills training and increasing their participation in governance.
