USAID extends assistance to countries recovering from disaster and trying to escape poverty. USAID Sri Lanka’s portfolio consists of four programmes that concentrate on laying the foundations for economic growth, promoting inclusive and peaceful approaches to politics and governance, improving the social and economic status of disadvantaged groups and supporting the peace process. In addition USAID supports activities implemented under the humanitarian assistance programme and manages three regional programmes with activities that benefit Sri Lankans.
