The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) supports India in strengthening its national institutions and disseminating advanced knowledge in diverse areas. The country programme covers the areas of human development, rural and urban livelihoods for human development, community centred natural resource management, decentralisation and participatory planning, disaster mitigation and vulnerability reduction, and HIV/AIDS. UNDP India supports more than 15 central ministries and seven of the poorest states of India during this current country programme cycle.
