Kodak supported NGOs in Tsunami photo project in Sri Lanka

After the South Asian Tsunami hit the eastern shore of Sri Lanka in 2004, Merlin, the UK medical NGO, immediately responded to the disaster and asked for partnerships.

Picture People produced a photo project, Echoes, with some of their beneficiaries in Kulmani and Batticaloa. With the continuing support of Kodak, Picture People went to Sri Lanka to hand out cameras and spent two months amongst the people of these towns. Echoes was exhibited in London, Colombo and taken back to the east coast of Sri Lanka, and displayed in public spaces.
