mothers2mothers is a South African NGO that focuses on educating women about HIV/AIDS and how to combat the disease. The organisation trains and employs new mothers living with HIV to provide education and support to women like themselves. These Mentor Mothers work alongside doctors and nurses to serve the needs of pregnant women and new mothers living with HIV, helping to fill the gaps in critically understaffed health systems.

mothers2mothers advances four of the eight United Nations Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) that most directly affect women’s and children’s health.
