Western Society for the Upliftment of Children assists the marginalised, street and working youth and children of local communities through programmes including a day center for out of school children ages 10 – 18 years, classes for in school children at risk of falling out of the school system, counseling sessions and workshops, visits to homes and schools, and visits to areas where marginalized children hang out. Through these programs, the Society works towards the following goals for each participant: Literacy and remedial education, pre-vocational and technical training, STD/HIV awareness, personal and family development, environmental education, and child rights.
