Prayas is a US-based non-profit organisation that works to make a contribution towards improving the level and spread of education and information in Indian society. One of the main focus areas of Prayas is its Student Support Program which provides scholarships / financial assistance to deserving and needy students to start or continue basic, higher or vocational education. Prayas supports the work of organizations in the following areas: providing basic or higher education at no or nominal cost, spreading awareness about the importance of education, motivating poor families to send their children to schools instead of sending them to work, providing information on available sources and mediums of education, providing vocational and employment-oriented trainings.
