Founded in 1939, Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA) is the humanitarian non-governmental organisation of the Norwegian trade union movement. NPA assists the vulnerable, the poor and the oppressed in Norway and abroad. In Norway, NPA provides medical and rescue services during major accidents, first aid, public health programmes, campaigns against racism and services for the elderly and disabled. Internationally, NPA participates in land mine clearing, refugee services and enhancing land and resource rights of the rural poor.
