IDASA is committed to promoting sustainable democracy in South Africa and elsewhere by building democratic institutions, educating citizens, and advocating social justice. IDASA includes a fee-for-service component and bids for projects independently and in partnership with other organisations.

From fighting apartheid, to combating corruption, to empowering citizens, Idasa has been committed to building democratic societies in Africa for over 20 years. Based in Africa, staffed by Africans, working for Africans, Idasa has a demonstrated track record of building the capacity of communities to address democratic challenges.

Idasa’s mission is to promote sustainable democracy based on active citizenship, democratic institutions and social justice.
