Cards from Africa is a company that markets greetings cards made by a needy Rwandan community to shops around the world. Since its beginnings in September 2004, the company has been operating on a fair-trade basis, and now provides a steady income for 40 young Rwandans. Cards for Africa also employs a counsellor to help the young survivors of the Rwanda genocide. In 2006, Cards from Africa was nominated for the BBC/Shell World Challenge.
