Disaster prevention: a role for business?

This study was commissioned by the ProVention Consortium to examine the business case for reducing natural disaster risks in developing countries. The study explores a corporate social responsibility (CSR) perspective on disaster prevention and addresses, in particular, the potential for establishing partnerships between the private sector and the humanitarian system. It is intended to stimulate dialogue and help catalyze new ideas and collaborative initiatives involving the business community.
