Needs Assessment (Courtesy of FEWS)

See Niger: An evidence base for understanding the current crisis for further details.
These needs, assessed by FEWS, may help you identify how your company could make a contribution.

  • Augmentation of supplemental feeding for children under five
  • Additional support for the Government of Niger’s free food distributions
  • Provision of emergency animal fodder and livestock nutritional supplements
  • Assistance with sanitation and potable water (in areas with the highest malnutrition)
  • Seeds for second season cropping, especially short cycle beans

It should be noted that Niger is a landlocked country, with relatively high logistics costs. Several agencies have requested financial support to cover logistics costs for supplies to reach beneficiaries.
