Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) - Kazakhstan

FAO was founded in 1945 with a mandate to raise levels of nutrition and standards of living, to improve agricultural productivity, and to improve the living conditions of rural populations. Today, FAO is the lead United Nations agency for agriculture, forestry, fisheries and rural development. As an intergovernmental organisation, FAO has 187 member countries plus one member organisation, the European Community. Steps are currently being taken towards the creation of FAO National Committee in Kazakhstan.
