Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) – Nicaragua represents the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization in Nicaragua. The organisation seeks to raise levels of nutrition and standards of living, to improve agricultural productivity, and to better the condition of rural populations. In crisis situations, FAO – Nicaragua works in conjunction with the World Food Programme and other humanitarian agencies to help people rebuild their lives. The organisation is also a source of knowledge and information, providing behind the scenes assistance to help people help themselves.
