The Center of Excellence Information Technology for Humanitarian Assistance, Cooperation and Action (ITHACA) was founded by an association between the Politecnico di Torino and the Higher Institute on Innovation Territorial Systems (Si.T.I.) in cooperation with the World Food Programme (WFP) of the United Nations. (ITHACA) undertakes research in the field of geomatics for the analysis, evaluation and mitigation of damages caused by natural or man-made catastrophes.
