Integrated Regional Information Networks (IRIN)

The Integrated Regional Information Networks (IRIN), is an initiative of the UN to provide constantly updated news and analysis for the humanitarian community (with respect to natural and man-made disaster situations). The networks target decision-makers in relief agencies, host and donor governments, human-rights organisations, humanitarian advocacy groups, academic institutions, the media and affected communities. Services include analytical reports, fact sheets, interviews, daily country updates and weekly summaries in English, French and Kiswahili (all available on the internet and via email). Based in Nairobi, IRIN mainly focuses on the African continent, but has recently expanded its range of geographical coverage to Central Asia.
