Norway Humanitarian Customs Regulations

This document was submitted in response to a questionnaire distributed by Global Hand regarding humanitarian customs information. It provides regulations for importing humanitarian aid into Norway.

Required Documents

The following goods are required for exporting humanitarian aid from Norway:* bill of lading/airway bill;* export declaration (containing information such as the shipper, recipient, type of goods, weight, value, etc.);* certificate of origin (if this is required by the receiving country)

Tax Exemption

No particular tax exemption regulations apply to humanitarian goods, just the ordinary tax regulations on export goods.

Prohibited Goods

There are no particular restictions regarding the type of goods that can be sent as humanitarian aid. The ordinary export regulations apply (i.e. no export of ammunition, weapons, drugs, strategic goods, etc.)

Pre-shipment Inspection

For the export of humanitarian goods, Customs require that the shipments are cleared through Customs before export.

Other Information

Norway does not normally receive humanitarian goods. Therefore there are no particular regulations relating to this matter in the Customs legislation.
