The World Bank is a specialised UN agency with a mandate of reducing poverty globally. The World Bank supports the efforts of developing country governments to build schools and health centers, provide water and electricity, fight disease, and protect the environment. There are two annual meetings attended by bank staff, the Board of Governors, accredited non-governmental organisations (NGOs), private sector representatives and journalists. The annual meetings are listed on the Events Calendar of the World Bank.
