UNOCHA Customs Directory - Congo

UNOCHA provides regulations detailing how to obtain tax exemption when importing to Congo, and also lists contact details of the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Plan of Congo for further information. The relevant regulations are part of the Customs Act of UDEAC (Central African Customs Economic Union): Articles 31 and 32 of Act No 2/92-UDEAC-556-CD-SE1 of 30 April 1992. These state that the goods must be delivered to “specifically designated assistance or national relief operations”, e.g. the Red Cross. The shipment must also fulfil three other requirements:) be adequately described in the required documents; ii) be distributed free of charge; and iii) consist of ‘’essential items’’. See the UNOCHA page for more details.
