Tides Canada

Unverified non-profit organisation

Founded in 2000, Tides Canada is the country’s largest public foundation dedicated to the environment and social justice. It supports, convenes and directly funds hundreds of initiatives annually, from neighbourhood-scale social programs to national conservation efforts. The organization’s operating charity is home to 40 of Canada’s leading social change initiatives. Tides Canada is involved in major initiatives across Canada. It supports leading non-profits, First Nations, forest companies, and governments implementing the Great Bear Rainforest agreements and the Canadian Boreal Forest Agreement. Tides Canada is also at the cutting edge of sustainable approaches to salmon aquaculture, marine planning and bringing the voice of civil society to discussions about the future of the energy sector.
