The Argentinian Red Cross is a member of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. Founded in 1880, the organisation currently works with priority groups identified in its national plan developed in 2002. These groups include elderly people in day centres and homes, infants and youths, people with HIV/AIDS and people in emergency zones. Programmes focus on the provision of food, healthcare, disaster prevention and disaster preparedness.
