ExxonMobil partners with Malaria No More and American Idol to distribute mosquito nets to over 3 million people in sub-Saharan Africa

Thanks to the generosity of American Idol fans and the support of corporate sponsor ExxonMobil, Malaria No More has distributed more than 1.5 million life-saving mosquito nets in countries across Africa and supported innovative education and awareness programs to work towards ending malaria deaths in Africa by 2015.

The partnership raised funding to distribute enough mosquito nets to protect an estimated 3 million people in Angola, Mali, Madagascar, Uganda, Zambia, Nigeria and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

The support of ExxonMobil also helped to launch Malaria No More’s signature Surround Sound models, including Xeex Sibbiru in Senegal and Zinduka! in Tanzania; helped build capacity in African countries; and supported innovative pilot projects and finance mechanisms.
