Center for Public Health is a not for profit organization registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC). It has a tax exemption certification from Federal in Land Revenue Services (FIRS). The organization was initially founded at the college of medicine at the University of Nigeria Enugu Campus as Society for Public Health in 1996.

The activities then were mainly on sensitization and voluntary activities during mass casualties in the department of Accident and Emergency. Also coordinating emergency response and rescue. This is to assist the victims of such a crisis.

Currently, the Centre for Public Health is supporting the people in rural areas by providing medical services to the poor, antenatal services to pregnant women, medical services to children and supplies medications to the elderly people with non-communicable diseases especially people with hypertension, diabetes and arthritis.

The organization also organizes capacity building programs for the health workers to help improve their skill

The association is working currently in Nigeria and is set to open operations in Zambia, Kenya, and Congo. They currently maintain 10 permanent staff and numerous volunteers made up of professionals in medicine, law, engineering and other fields.
