Women’s Association for the Promotion and the Endogenous Development, WAPED in acronym, was created in 1999 and located in DR CONGO, South Kivu Province, Uvira City.

WAPED’s objective is to help persons in difficult situation, particularly refugees and displaced women, young girls and children living in the very hard situation. To realize this objective, they carry out several activities on the field. Here are some of them:

- The medical, psychological and economic assistance in favor young girls and children victims of violence, refugees and displaced women, girls and children
- The promotion of the income-generating activities such as the small business by micro credit
- Schooling of orphan children, refugees and displaced young girls and children
- Providing water and sanitation in favor of refugees, displaced persons and host communities
- The promotion of the young girls and children human rights
