Deaf In Action was founded by a group of Deaf and other PWDs with the aim of promoting education and improving the lives of the deaf community in the North and Eastern Uganda in order to increase the employment and economic opportunities through fundraising for their Education and the development of self-employment activities which provide an alternative to a competitive and discriminatory labor market to afford them opportunity to earn a livelihood, improve their standard of living and contribute to the well-being of their families and communities.

Aims and Objectives of the Project

• Increase employment and economic opportunities for deaf through the introduction of self-employment activities which provide an alternative to a competitive and discriminatory labor market to afford them opportunity to earn a livelihood, improve their standard of living and contribute to the well-being of the families and community
• Promote the Deaf Education through the production and sales of Beads and Beads Products
• Provide career guidance and mentor the Deaf in order to develop them into self-employment, succeeding in the world of work and develop their life skills.

Vision of the Organization
• To empower the Deaf to be self-reliant and reliable people in the community
• To foster a spirit of co-operation through promoting hard- working, unity and overcoming laxity and idleness in the community
• To have each beneficiary run his/her own project after running the Mother project for at least 6 Months when all of them have mastered the art of running it.
