AICAT Foundation is a local Uganda Non Profit Organization (NGO) that was formed and formally registered with the National Bureau of NGO Registration in 2020.
AICAT envisions "Communities free of poverty where everyone harnesses his/ her potential to lead a dignified life. To fulfill this vision, AICAT Foundation works with local communities to address the systemic causes and impact of poverty.
Program areas include : livelihood development and economic empowerment, community development, education, health, water and sanitation, human rights protection and promotion. AICAT Foundation has undertaken the following projects/ activities: supported Kumi district local government in Covid19 prevention and control by engaging in community mobilization and education, provision of personal protection equipment; organization testing and vaccination outreaches. The foundation also supported the local community of Koceger village, Kanyum sub county in sinking of 2 new boreholes and repair of an old that now all combines serve more than 2,000 people with clean water.
The foundation in conjunction with Irise Institute East Africa conducted menstruation health education in secondary schools in Kumi district. Furthermore, the foundation sourced for refurbished tools and equipment from a British charity for setting up a vocational skilling centre in Kanyum sub county. The foundation together with Earl Family Commodities have piloted a social enterprise of processing and distributing precooked beans as an environment friendly product that saves consumer’s time and cost of energy for cooking by 60%
