Private sector participation for sustainable water service management

Following the findings of the Rüschlikon-Conference a process was initiated to find ways in which the private sector participation (PSP) projects could be evaluated in order to develop further and to improve the rules of the game for PSP. Based on field experience it should be possible to elaborate guiding principles for successful PSP that can contribute to effective management of water resources and to abate the water-crisis. This report is a first step in this direction. It is based on the analysis of selected case studies and tries to compile the topics for further discussions on the way to develop guiding principles.
