United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) - Haiti

Unverified non-profit organisation

UNDP is one of United Nation organisations that has targets for reducing poverty, hunger, disease, illiteracy, environmental degradation and discrimination against women by 2015. Much of the UNDP’s work in Haiti focuses on restoration after the devastating earthquake that leveled the country in 2010. Projects include removing and recycling debris from affected communities as an entry point to encourage Haitians to return to their homes and recreate their livelihoods. Pilot projects are now in progress in Leogane and six neighbourhoods in Port-au-Prince. Moreover, UNDP support the government in producing studies to understand the challenges of poverty and human development and suggest policy measures and solutions.
