Women Voice for Change - WVC

Unverified non-profit organisation

Women Voice for Change – WVC was created in Baraka – Fizi in 2015 by a group of 9 young women and girls community leaders motivated by the observation of the acute ignorance of women and girls about their human rights and the violence they suffer.

WVC’s concern is to mobilize the entire community of Fizi on the fundamental rights of women and girls, the real and concrete equality of opportunities through positive actions in the general process of democratization, management and peaceful resolution of conflicts, good governance and the emergence of female leadership at all levels.
WVC’s mission is to mobilize communities in the Fizi territory on the development of women and girls, education, health, the environment, the rights of women and disadvantaged children, real and concrete equality of opportunities through positive actions in the general process of democratization, peace, good governance and the emergence of women leaders at all levels.

In order to respond to the different constraints faced by women in the Fizi territory, WVC formulates strategic plans that constitute opportunities to have a dashboard in its organizational strategy for the rural and semi-urban world, linked to the promotion of activities and rights of women and girls in the territory. WVC aims to accelerate the process of improving the living conditions of women and girls in general and more particularly those in rural areas, through better structuring, in order to strengthen their efforts and take into account their participation in development.

The main areas of intervention of WVC are the following:
- Fight against HIV/AIDS and elimination of gender-based violence.
