The Nature Conservancy

Unverified non-profit organisation

The Nature Conservancy is a non-profit organization, supported primarily by private donations working around the world, to protect ecologically important lands and waters. The organization addresses threats to conservation involving climate change, fire, fresh water, forests, invasive species, and marine ecosystems. Working closely with partners, corporations, indigenous people and traditional communities, the Nature Conservancy operates a strategic, science-based planning process called ‘Conservation by Design’. This process identifies the highest-priority landscapes and seascapes that, if conserved, will ensure long-term biodiversity.
