Volunteering for Impact: Best Practices in International Corporate Volunteering

This paper produced for Pfizer and the Brookings Institute seeks to explore and understand the lessons learned among major corporations whose employees have engaged in international volunteering. While multiple studies have been published on domestic corporate volunteering activities, only a few studies focus exclusively on international efforts.

The study is a first step toward creating a more structured and systematic understanding of the landscape of ICV. It provides a targeted analysis of a sample of leading corporate programmes, suggests ways in which corporations can more strategically align volunteering programmes with their businesses, and provides recommendations for corporations to consider in the future.
