Bupa International has joined forces with the international charity, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF).

In 2008, Bupa International, the world’s largest expatriate health insurer, joined forces with the international charity, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), to raise money for people in Africa.

To launch the new partnership, Bupa International made an initial donation of £15,000 to MSF to tend to people with HIV/AIDS in Kenya and those with malaria in Sierra Leone. A further £5,000 was raised for the charity over the course of 2009 by Bupa International’s employees in Brighton, Miami and Copenhagen. This money was then fund matched by Bupa, as a part of its Community Connections charitable giving programme, bringing the company’s total donation in the first year to £25,000.

In 2009, a donation of over £20,000 has been made by Bupa International and the brokers of its international health insurance to MSF in order to assist the ravaged people of Somalia, which has been embroiled in an interminable civil war for years. MSF provides some relief for the Somalian people from its centers in Balcad, Karaan and Lido, and has received support of £65,900 from Bupa International since mid-2008.
