The International Institute of Rural Reconstruction (IIRR) was formed in 1960 to provide expertise and skills to promote rural development through community training and resources on development issues. Headquartered in Silang, Philippines, the IIRR works directly with rural communities in Africa, Asia and Latin America on community-based initiatives. The Chinese office of the IIRR is based in the province of Yunnan, which is also the key focus area of rural development for the Institute.
